I took Addison in for a 2+ hour neurodevelopment check up. She was seen by the physician, nurses, physical therapy, occupational therapy, a psychologist, speech pathologist, and a hearing test as well as height and weight check!! She was such a big girl for all the people and tests that she had to do. Every time a new person came in the room she had a HUGE smile for him/her. She babbled on and on. The nurse peeked back in about 2/3 of the way through and said, "By the way... word is spreading that she is by far the cutest baby we have seen today!"
She is doing everything she should be for her adjusted age of 6 months. She did score a tiny bit behind on motor skills yet, but of course she was exhausted and beyond nap time during the evaluation so it is hard to say.
A couple of funny things during the appointment....
The speech pathologist was going to mark her down because she hadn't made any "M" sounds (she has to speak certain consonants during the short evaluation time) but as the lady stood up to leave... she said "mamamamamama". Pheww!!! I told her she could but that doesn't count.
When the occupational therapist was playing with her, she held out a block for Addison to grab and she grabbed it with her left hand. The OT said, "can you hold it in your right hand too?" Not even a split second later, Addison on command switched it to her right hand!" We all laughed!
She was just under 26" long and 13# 11oz. She is still in 3 month outfits and 6 month sleepers. The following picture cracks me up because she is wearing a 0-3 month onesie that says "Just Arrived".... haha... 8+ months ago!!

8+ Months!!
Somehow the calendar keeps flipping month after month....time is just flying here!! There is never a dull moment at the VH household!!
Addison had yet another day of illness..puking..puking...puking. It has happened once a month for the past 3 months. Always short lived...only about 6 hours and then she is fine. But of coarse it has to get to the point of dry heaves and lethargy bordering us to have to go to the ER for dehydration.
On the positive... she is talking all the time, smiling and giggling, rolling all over (we cannot leave her alone!), and slowly will begin inching out of 3 month outfits.
She can scoot a bit on the floor and get her knees under her but she is not crawling yet. Also, still just the one tooth but with all the chewing and drooling, I am sure there are more coming soon!
Today we tried some cereal with her in the highchair and I think she liked sitting in the highchair more than the food!!
She is so excitable just with seeing people... especially Mommy, Daddy, Grandma or Grandpa Sall!!
Here are some more pics for you to enjoy!!

Toofer!!!
Yup...it is official!!! She has a tooth!! Grandpa Sall actually was the first to discover it when Addison chomped down on his finger. We knew it was close as she eats everything in sight and drools up a storm!! We still have her on just milk since we are a bit "gun shy" on starting cereal. She has such a sensitive stomach that even when we change her bottles she sometimes gets pukey. The pediatrician wasn't super excited for her to start cereal at our previous visit just because it would fill her up so fast but give her virtually no caloric intake. She still needs all the calories she can get since she still has not reached the growth chart. She is continually growing at a good rate (and she has her own growth chart :)).
She loves to play, read books, and will giggle at just about anything. We have been working with her on motor skills and she is getting close to crawling. She can roll to her tummy and once in a while get her knees under herself, but then cannot hold her head up at the same time. She will push against our hands at use her legs to propel herself across forward while dragging her face across the floor.
We cannot believe she is 7 1/2 months old already!! Such a big girl who has come a long long way from her 2lb 12oz lowest weight!!
Thank you all for your continued prayers and we covet any and all prayers for her to remain healthy through this cold/flu season.

7 months old..... Already!!!
Wow!!! Time sure does fly when you have a little one!! Miss Addison turned 7 months on the 15th!! According to a rough weigh at home using our digital scale, she is 13 pounds!! We have also increased her feedings to almost 5oz every 3 hours.
She is progressing well since our last post. We have been working diligently with her on her "floor exercises". She is much better with her trunk control and can sit up for 10-15 seconds before toppling over (which is what she should do). She will scoot towards toys with a hand behind her feet..... although sometimes with her face ON the floor instead of holding it up.
She loves her toes, especially if she is in a sleeper with "funny feet" that have something on them. When sitting up, she will fold right in two in order to eat her funny feet. We can hold up toys in front of her and she will grab them from us too. Tim will tease her and put her pipe in his mouth. She looks at him, laughs, and then takes it out of his mouth and puts it in hers. Sometimes she will even hold her pipe out in front of her and just talk to it :). The other thing she loves is books!!! Our favorite is the "Belly Button Book" by Sandra Boynton (actually all of her books are great!) where belly buttons are called "bee-boos". When we put Addison on her changing table we push on her belly button and say "Bee-boo!!"--she smiles every time!
We are absolutely having a blast with her!!!

Time for an Update!!!
I still cannot believe how quickly time goes by!! Addison is 6 1/2 months old already!! She went for her 6 month checkup at the pediatrician which she loved!!! (Well, except for the shots!) This appt Mommy AND Daddy were there to giver her love afterwards. Addison LOVED the crinkley paper that sits over the table. She was talking up a storm and would not let go of the paper when the Dr picked her up. She is hilarious!! The Dr was very happy with her progress overall. She still is not on the growth chart for a 6 month old but according to her adjusted age she is 75th percentile for length (go figure she might be tall!!) and between 10th and 25th for weight.
She was also evaluated by the Early On nurse. She didn't quite pass her assessment, but I was trying to keep her awake which didn't help her show off her best gross motor skills. She doesn't sit up quite as long as she should and needs to start to "scoot" while on her tummy. This means more time in her bumbo and on her tummy. However, she does not stay on her tummy more than a few seeconds and then she rolls over. We force her to stay on her tummy and try to distract her with toys which works sometimes but other times she is just too smart for us!!
Here are some pics from the last couple of weeks.

6+ months old!!!! (Already!!)
We cannot believe how fast time has gone and how much Addison changes everyday!! She is starting to grow out of her 3 month clothes because she has such long legs!! (Wonder where she gets that from!?). She LOVES to play peek-a-boo and has developed her own little giggle. She also has a loud voice and a soft, raspy voice (which we call her "sexy voice"). She curls her tongue when she talks and can lick the bottom of her chin. She is starting to sleep for longer stretches at night which we LOVE! She is getting so strong and loves to roll from her tummy to her back with big smiles.
Enjoy some pics from the last month! :) And a video (if it will work)!!

Ready for a New Year!!
We did have our first trip to the ER on December 31st. Addison woke up throwing up which went on all day. It got to the point of dry heaving and dehydration. We are not sure what happened since she doesn't really go anywhere (to protect her from germs) and Tim, myself, and my parents have not been sick. Thankfully, it was a short illness and she was back to herself the next afternoon.
Otherwise, we are having a blast playing with Addison!! She is talking up a storm---never a quiet moment here (unless she is sleeping!). She loves playing with her new toys--well looking, holding, but mostly chewing on them. No teeth yet... but she is a drool bucket!! She also LOVES books. One afternoon I grabbed a stack of books and read them all while she sat nicely on my lap. If she is awake, she either wants to sit up to look around or needs to be thoroughly entertained.
Here are another handful of pics.... enjoy!!
Addison with her Dance and Wiggle Puppy from Mommy and Daddy (to play with in a few months :))
Our big family Christmas tree!!
A 3 Foot tree for Addison with her 1st Christmas ornaments on it :)

She like to lick everything!! Her tongue can about reach the bottom of her chin!! Slobbermouth!!
And she just discovered her toes!!
