Neurodevelopment Appointment

I took Addison in for a 2+ hour neurodevelopment check up. She was seen by the physician, nurses, physical therapy, occupational therapy, a psychologist, speech pathologist, and a hearing test as well as height and weight check!! She was such a big girl for all the people and tests that she had to do. Every time a new person came in the room she had a HUGE smile for him/her. She babbled on and on. The nurse peeked back in about 2/3 of the way through and said,  "By the way... word is spreading that she is by far the cutest baby we have seen today!"

She is doing everything she should be for her adjusted age of 6 months. She did score a tiny bit behind on motor skills yet, but of course she was exhausted and beyond nap time during the evaluation so it is hard to say.

A couple of funny things during the appointment....
The speech pathologist was going to mark her down because she hadn't made any "M" sounds (she has to speak certain consonants during the short evaluation time) but as the lady stood up to leave... she said "mamamamamama". Pheww!!! I told her she could but that doesn't count.
When the occupational therapist was playing with her, she held out a block for Addison to grab and she grabbed it with her left hand. The OT said, "can you hold it in your right hand too?" Not even a split second later, Addison on command switched it to her right hand!" We all laughed!

She was just under 26" long and 13# 11oz. She is still in 3 month outfits and 6 month sleepers. The following picture cracks me up because she is wearing a 0-3 month onesie that says "Just Arrived".... haha... 8+ months ago!!

We love our little peanut!!

8+ Months!!

Somehow the calendar keeps flipping month after month....time is just flying here!! There is never a dull moment at the VH household!!

Addison had yet another day of illness..puking..puking...puking. It has happened once a month for the past 3 months. Always short lived...only about 6 hours and then she is fine. But of coarse it has to get to the point of dry heaves and lethargy bordering us to have to go to the ER for dehydration.

On the positive... she is talking all the time, smiling and giggling, rolling all over (we cannot leave her alone!), and slowly will begin inching out of 3 month outfits.

She can scoot a bit on the floor and get her knees under her but she is not crawling yet. Also, still just the one tooth but with all the chewing and drooling, I am sure there are more coming soon!

Today we tried some cereal with her in the highchair and I think she liked sitting in the highchair more than the food!!

She is so excitable just with seeing people... especially Mommy, Daddy, Grandma or Grandpa Sall!!

Here are some more pics for you to enjoy!!

Showing off some long hairs!

Fresh out of the bath!

Trying out a new outfit for her 8 month photo shoot :)

My blued eyed babe!

She loves when you blow in her face!

Sitting out on the deck (a treat for her since she doesn't get to be outside yet!)

Grass!!

Big girl in her high chair while Daddy stirs the cereal...

First bite....

She would rather just eat the plain spoon!

A bit messy.... and she wasn't really a fan but we will try again!!

Toofer!!!

Yup...it is official!!! She has a tooth!! Grandpa Sall actually was the first to discover it when Addison chomped down on his finger. We knew it was close as she eats everything in sight and drools up a storm!! We still have her on just milk since we are a bit "gun shy" on starting cereal. She has such a sensitive stomach that even when we change her bottles she sometimes gets pukey. The pediatrician wasn't super excited for her to start cereal at our previous visit just because it would fill her up so fast but give her virtually no caloric intake. She still needs all the calories she can get since she still has not reached the growth chart. She is continually growing at a good rate (and she has her own growth chart :)).

She loves to play, read books, and will giggle at just about anything. We have been working with her on motor skills and she is getting close to crawling. She can roll to her tummy and once in a while get her knees under herself, but then cannot hold her head up at the same time. She will push against our hands at use her legs to propel herself across forward while dragging her face across the floor.

We cannot believe she is 7 1/2 months old already!! Such a big girl who has come a long long way from her 2lb 12oz lowest weight!!

Thank you all for your continued prayers and we covet any and all prayers for her to remain healthy through this cold/flu season.
